The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim FREEDOM for the captives and RELEASE from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1

A Prayer for Those Who Are Trafficked

Loving God, we ask you from the depths of our hearts
To enfold in your infinite mercy those who suffer the horrors of trafficking.
May your Love strengthen their spirits.
                      Free them from their suffering.
And for those disturbed people who traffic in the buying and selling
                      of human beings
and thus profit from someone else's pain,
we ask your blessing, that love and respect for others
might take root in their hearts.
Enlighten us, God, to do what is ours to do,
and thus put an end to the evils of trafficking.

Women who able to voice "I don't let my past define me, I let it empower me." Or "We define who we are today, our past doesn't!" And ‎"We desire to be recognized not as just victims & survivors, but as over-comers."

                      Advocacy Day - November 10, 2010

Ohio is one of only seven states that do not have a stand-alone human trafficking felony. Currently, Ohio only has a human trafficking "specification" or "sentencing enhancement," R.C. 2941.1422., that is defined by 2929.01 (AAA) to only cover sex trafficking cases. If a person is charged with two sex trafficking related felonies (i.e. abduction or compelling prostitution), this sentencing enhancement may be attached, which will mandate prison time of at least 12 months. RC 2941. 1422 is complicated to use and has NEVER been utilized.

The Free2BMe Project, on behalf of the Lucas County Human Trafficking Coalition went to Columbus, Ohio to advocate and lobby our Ohio Senators and State Reps to pass Senate Bill 235 and House Bill 493, which will formerly define human trafficking and make it a stand-alone second degree felony in the State of Ohio.
